Two fresh projects for 2019
Seeing as I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve, let me wish every one of you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
I’m happy to note that this new year marks the imminent fruition of several projects I’ve had in my back pocket for a while. The first is a small chapbook of poetry which I’ve recently finished editing and laying out, (the first test batch of copies came out beautifully!) and will soon get to work on publishing. Ideally some 200 copies of the book will be available come February, and I’ll keep everyone updated about this as we get closer to the launch date. Also, we’ve recently taken some strides towards the execution of a project I’ve been incredibly excited about for the past year: New Washing Machine.
With the aid of friend and filmmaker Mitch Huttema, we’ve gotten work underway for the production of a short comedy/drama film about being alive. Without giving away too much of the plot here, I can tell you that the premise sees a young protagonist struggle with their own identity while attempting to delineate the boundaries of their own living space, all the while irked by that never-ending chore: laundry.
As we all move into the new year, I look forward to sharing more tangible updates on both of these projects, and sharing both of them with you when they flourish entirely.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year,
Martin
